Margo Dalal
Margo Dalal (she/her) has over a decade of experience growing, sustaining, and advising non-profits and small businesses in Detroit. Currently, she is the Director of Capital Strategies at Seed Commons. She is a co-founder and former ED of the Detroit Community Wealth Fund and the founder of the Detroit Kite Festival. She holds a Master's in Social Work from the Univeristy of Michigan and a Bachelor’s from Hampshire College. She is a proud resident of East English Village, where she lives with her beloved partner and dog.

Simon Anton
Simon Anton (he/him) is a multi-disciplinary artist, designer, and educator with a focus on transforming post-consumer recycled plastic into art. After losing his mom to homicide in 2019, he cofounded Got Grief House. He is a lifelong teacher and is currently coaching a robotics club in Detroit’s North End. Anton holds a Master of Fine Arts in 3D Design from Cranbrook Academy of Art and has exhibited work at the Venice Architecture Biennale, Expo Chicago, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit.

Audra Williams, owner of KnowYourNumbers, LLC brings more than 20 years of expertise in bookkeeping and financial organization, helping small businesses keep their financial records clean, clear, and stress‑free while improving the way they track performance. She is passionate about helping owners gain clarity and confidence in their numbers while offering dependable support. Outside of her passion, she enjoys time with family, friends, and her two Shih-poos.

Ashley Johnson (she/her) has lived in Detroit for over 10 years and worked in the nonprofit sector nearly as long. She is currently Senior Program Manager at Michigan Community Resources, providing capacity building support to nonprofits and has a background in refugee resettlement and natural disaster services. After her mom passed from the COVID-19 pandemic, Ashley began her journey supporting herself and others through grief. Ashley holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Anthropology from Wayne State University.
Dr. Lawrence Young
Dr. Lawrence Young is a Hip-Hop artist, organizational development strategist, higher education scholar, lecturer, and researcher. Dr. Young is a member of the Detroit Hip-Hop collective, Cold Men Young, and in recent years has blended his Hip-Hop creative practice with his higher education scholarly work. Dr. Young’s research and practice focus on Hip-Hop counterspaces as safe havens and sites of joy, resilience, community, therapeutic release, and belonging.

Jean Khut
Jean Khut is a Detroit-area writer, cultural worker, and member-owner of Book Suey, a bookstore co-op in Hamtramck. Their work explores grief, memory, and resistance through projects like Don't Think I've Forgotten: Lost Sounds, Global Histories, a global music radio show inspired by their family’s Cambodian diaspora. At the heart of it all, Jean is a grounded space-maker (and a budding florist) committed to holding room for grief and collective care.

Chelsea Martinez is passionate about building community and creating spaces where people feel safe, seen, and supported. She brings experience in nonprofit work, leadership, and human resources, and leads with both heart and intention. She loves integrating yoga, breathwork, and somatic movement into her life, and she finds grounding and inspiration through nature, adventure, and intentional experiences.
External Committee MemberNatasha T. Miller
Natasha Miller is a Detroit, MI native, performance poet, LGBTQ activist, film producer, and founder of the Artists Inn Detroit. Natasha has been a member of four national slam teams, starred in a national Sprite commercial, a Shinola CNN ad, and she is a Women of the World Poetry Slam 3-time- top five finalist. Natasha currently tours the world using her words to enlighten, create equality, and most importantly spread truth, and forgiveness in the tradition of so many great leaders before her.
Reshounn "Sun" Foster
Reshounn "Sun" Foster, the "Minister of Joyspiration" and creator of The Bubble Therapy Experience, facilitates therapeutic bubble play to foster restorative joy. Since beginning their practice in 2008 to navigate workplace stress and personal losses, Sun has evolved their work into a specialized healing service supporting individuals and families’ diverse needs. Bubbling is also a living dedication to Sun’s mother Brenda, their daughter Arian and a charming boy at Belle Isle who asked Sun, “Are you making the world beautiful?”

Julie Weatherhead
GG's House Director + Co-FounderJulie Weatherhead (she/her, they/them) is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Grief Doula and Community Organizer. She loves to collaborate with other organizations, communities and individuals in the city of Detroit where she was not born but surely raised, learned and lifted in this latter part of her life. She enjoys working in not just individual feelings of loss but also collective grief in our inevitably interconnected world.
